Kick-off another year by setting some personal goals
Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m a man of health and taste… I could go on but we’d have to pay royalties to the Rolling Stones. It’s 2015’s first issue of HFM and we’re ringing the changes – we have a new editor (that would be me) and a fresh new approach to bringing you the best stories, workouts, meal plans and guides to making 2015 your strongest, fittest and healthiest ever year. It’s a good time to set goals and whether yours is to lose fat, build lean muscle or lead a healthier life, we’ve recruited the best, most knowledgeable experts to bring you winning tactics for the gym and your kitchen. Take our cover star. In between winning a fitness model world championship and personal training, Sean Stafford finds time to demonstrate exercises to injury-proof your body, then add lean muscle, in The Manual (p51).
It may be winter but that’s definitely no excuse to spend all day indoors, especially when assault course running events are spreading like ice across a pond – we chart the rise of Obstacle Racing (p40), and ask the experts how to hit the inside track.
If there’s a devil in the detail it’s that motivation to pursue our goals isn’t sold over the counter. So we’ve an inspiring story of personal transformation from HFM ad manager Rob Biddiss who went from ‘Sofa Marine’ to ‘Health Hero’ by burning 18kg of fat in eight weeks (p31). That much extra baggage was equal to hefting a backpack full of 84 Big Macs all day long – way to lighten the load.
Whatever your goals, be sure to keep it HFM – we’ll be with you all the way. And remember, this is your mag, so let us know what you think and join the conversation.
