There are few things I love more than a good de-cluttering session. With every box delivered to the charity shop or dump, I feel lighter in body and soul. (But I’m the sort of person who’d find living in a white box deeply soothing – I like to think it’s because I live in the moment, not weighed down by physical symbols of the past).
This issue, then, is broadly speaking our #HealthySpringClean issue. Not only do we have the literal – a feature on a woman whose hoarding habit took over her life (‘I Couldn’t Throw A Thing Away’, page 85) – we also have plenty of easy ideas for how you can give your life a metaphorical clear-out this spring. Some of my favourites: stop chasing Facebook likes and learn to love yourself instead. Forget the pursuit of amazing and savour the little things. Switch up heavy winter veg for the light, nutritious flavours of spring. Finally, accept your New Year’s resolution to run a marathon is making you miserable and go for a lovely long walk instead (or conversely, be inspired by our feature, ‘We Amazed Ourselves’, page 34, to take on an extreme challenge). The choice is yours – we just hope to inspire you.
The eagle-eyed will have spotted we’ve had a bit of a spring clean ourselves, with a fresh and bright new look, perfect for May and beyond. Hope you like it as much as we do.
