Protein itself is made of 20 different amino acids. 12 are called non-essential, as the body can make them, but it is still important to ensure optimal levels. The other 8 are essential amino acids which the body can not make. Lysine is an essential amino acid, meaning we must get it from the foods we eat or from quality tablets like these. We add Vitamin B6 which contributes to normal protein metabolism.
